Parenting

I thought when I choose to have a child I was ready...I now know how naive that thinking was. No one is ever ready. One child has driven to me the edge. I can't imagine having more than one. I now know an eight-year-old boy has more energy than the fuel in the space shuttle. If someone could harness their energy we wouldn't be dependent on oil or gas...Walk is not a word in any boy's vocabulary. He runs, skips, dances, jumps, hops, wiggles, crawls, dives...anything but walks. I don't know why I ever even ask the child to walk...I don't think he can. But parents ask their children may dumb questions. Things like "why did you do this", "who did this" and my favorite "what were you thinking"? The boy can't answer. He has no idea. Even if he did know by the time I ask the question all clear thoughts have left his head.

I know why God made children cute, it saves them. No one keeps ugly things around but those cute little faces, well they get to stay for another day.
